The Mayor of Castlereagh, Councillor Ann Marie Beattie, has launched the construction of an exciting new playground facility at Belvoir in Castlereagh during an official sod cutting ceremony.

The Mayor was joined by her fellow councillors for the area.

Speaking at the event, the Mayor said: “I am absolutely delighted to be here in the heart of Belvoir this morning to cut the first sod of this exciting new playground facility.

“Belvoir is the third in a series of playgrounds which the council is rolling-out across the borough, and one which I am particularly pleased to see taking shape.”

It is anticipated that works will be completed in early June, just in time for the children in the area to enjoy the facility during the summer holidays.
