Local woman in unique dance programme

A south Belfast woman has taken part in a unique international dance training programme.

Thirty-year-old dancer Joanne Cartin, from Orbit Dance, and a member of Orchardville Adult Education Centre in south Belfast, took part in the programme organised by south Belfast charity Arts Care.

Dancers with learning and physical disabilities were given the opportunity last week to work with two of Britain’s leading dance companies in a week-long series of workshops.

The workshops were hosted by Company Maine, whose dancers are residents of the neuro-rehabilitation unit at Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Belfast, and Orbit Dance, which comprises members of Mount Oriel day centre and Orchardville Adult Education Centre based at Knockbracken Healthcare Park.
