Lord Mayor praises dance ambassadors Razzle Dazzle with Two’s Company

Belfast people are being urged to show their support for two separate young dance acts from the city who have made the final of Sky TV’s Got To Dance.

This Saturday will see Two’s Company, balletic duo Brittany Edwards (13), from east Belfast and Jessica Glass (11), from north Belfast, go head to head with Razzle Dazzle, a 13 strong troupe from west and north Belfast.

Brittany and Jessica have been preforming together for three years after meeting at the Colin Maxwell School of Dance in Dundonald.

Colin said: “It has been a dream come true for us. We never imagined we would get this far. They are amazing dancers.”

Brittany's dad, Gary Edwards said: “We are so excited that the girls have got through to the final, we just want to thank Colin for all the hard work he has put into developing their routines.”

Razzle Dazzle was put together in 2007 by sisters Brona and Stephanie McCann who have helped them to top 10 positions in a Children’s Hip-Hop Formation competition in Germany and the World Championships for Children’s Hip-Hop Formation in Las Vegas.

Razzle Dazzle also scored first place in the British Street Dance Championships and won the All Ireland hip-hop competition in October 2010.

Brona McCann said: “Both groups have been very supportive of each other throughout the semi-finals; it could all change now they are in the finals.”

The Got To Dance final will be aired on Sky 1 at 7pm on Sunday and has a prize fund of £250,000.

Lord Mayor, Councillor Pat Convery, said: "It is great to see Belfast represented in such a positive way through this programme and the efforts of our local dancers. On behalf of residents across the city I extend our support and congratulations to all those taking part."
