NI Water working at Balmoral

NI Water is warning residents of the Balmoral Avenue area that traffic will be disrupted for three months from the end of February.

NI Water is currently improving and upgrading the water supply infrastructure across south Belfast.

It says the upgraded water mains will dramatically improve the quality, reliability and flexibility of water supply, while also reducing leakage.

Work is due to commence on Balmoral Avenue on Monday, February 28, for approximately three months. The work will involve laying new water mains between the junction with Lisburn Road to the junction with Harberton Avenue and will involve excavations on both sides of the carriageway.

Traffic management including signage will be put in place throughout this work and delays should be expected along Balmoral Avenue at peak times.

A spokesperson said: “There will be some disruption while this work takes place, but we would like to assure customers that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum.”

NI Water’s customer relations team can be contacted on 08457 440088. Questions on the scheme should quote ‘Farrans Utilities Water Mains Rehabilitation Programme’.
