On the Grapevine

Under the Sea sponsored walk is being held on Thursday, May 21, by Arellian Nursery School, Sandy Row.

The walk through Sandy Row from 10am is to raise funds for a large outdoor wooden play cabin for the school grounds. Your support would be very much appreciated.

Blackstaff history display stand, that was on show at the Park Shopping Centre, Donegall Road, recently, was so successful that the centre management asked for the display to be continued for a second week.

The display showed many interesting photographs which were never seen before in public. It is hoped that many will be included in a proposed Donegall Road history book.

Old photographs are being sought by the Donegall Road Local History Group.

If you have any old photographs which you think would be interesting as part of a history project, including a photographic exhibition and a book, then please phone Billy on 9029 2631. The group is keen to get the loan of photographs of all kinds which can be scanned and returned back to their owners.

Do you have a photograph of your grandfather or grandmother working in a factory or mill, or in a uniform of some kind?

Take a look through the old family album and get in touch.

The recently-released South Belfast Tourism report has positively pointed out that Sandy Row has started to embrace the concept of tourism.
