Pupils from Belvoir Park Primary School in south Belfast are taking part in research to advance autism studies at the School of Psychology at Queen’s University.

Dr Martin McPhillips has formed a professional relationship with the school to build on research into movement intervention programmes for children with developmental difficulties.

PhD student Caroline Whyatt will examine the extent of motor coordination problems in children with autism when compared to children without the developmental disability.

Belvoir Park principal Billy Tate said: “It is hoped that further research could increase knowledge and awareness of such difficulties.”
