Michaela was a district councillor for three years.

Why did you want to become an MLA?

I feel that I can make a difference across the communities that I represent. I can only be judged on what I can deliver and results.

Apart from family and work, what are your main passions in life?

I am good at providing a listening ear, this is something that I am passionate about, as at times that is all it takes to help, to listen to someone, and respect their confidentiality. I am also passionate about learning. And of course food, I like trying new cuisine.

What issues do you intend to raise as an MLA?

To ensure that those, young and old, with complex medical needs and those with disabilities -- as well as their families and carers -- get their full entitlements.

Is there anything about the Assembly system that needs changed urgently?

I feel the Assembly needs more female representation and fairer pay to those women and men who clean and maintain the building.
