Adrian Howells’s intimate little show Foot Washing For The Sole is one of the biggest hits of the festival so far.

Organisers rely on word of mouth for quirky little productions like this one, but festival director Graeme Farrow never thought word would spread beyond these shores. But three of those who took part had travelled from Amsterdam to let Adrian anoint their tootsies.

And on the subject of foreign fields, one of the volunteers for Trilogy — the show that promises to strip feminism bare — has undergone an interesting journey, which will culminate in her appearance on the Waterfront stage later this week. She is French Canadian, but now lives in Scotland. She’s already appeared with Trilogy there, but has travelled to Belfast to take part all over again, with her best friend, who lives here.
