Enjoy panoramic countryside views and maybe meet a star at Hilton bar
Where?
Kinahan's Bar-Brasserie, Hilton Templepatrick Hotel & Country Club, Castle Upton Estate, Templepatrick.
What's the vibe?
A popular haunt for hotel non-residents, Kinahan's enjoys the panoramic countryside views that its first-floor location affords. The bar itself is open and airy and comes complete with a balcony that overlooks the golf course - and provides a welcome respite for beleaguered smokers. There's a duke box for DIY music entertainment, as well as gaming machines, while a plasma TV screen is a big hit with sport aficionados.
What's on offer?
Al fresco drinks and bar snacks - you can sample a golfer's fry or panini.
Who can you expect to bump into?
People of all ages - locals and guests alike - including families with children. The Templepatrick Hilton is also the preferred location for the Northern Ireland team when they're in town, so footie fans could be in for an unexpected treat.
What are they wearing?
Casual.
Overheard?
I just spotted David Healy.
What to say?
I think I'll pop downstairs to check out the cocktail of the month in the other bar beside the restaurant ...
What not to say?
I hate golfers.
