Daniel O'Donnell's wife clearly doesn't consider Strictly Come Dancing beauty Kristina Rihanoff to be a rival.

Pictures posted by Daniel O'Donnell on social media after his twinkle-toed debut on Friday show Majella happily posing with the dancer nicknamed the 'Siberian Siren'.

It was all friendly as they smiled for the camera and Majella - who was dazzling in a pink dress - placed an arm around Kristina's waist.

Telly bosses reportedly were out to tame Rihanoff (37) by pairing her with happily married Donegal crooner Daniel (53).

Kristina dated two of her former dance partners on the show, Ben Cohen and Joe Calzaghe. England rugby union star Ben split from his wife to be with her and boxer Joe ditched his girlfriend. Fellow professional dancer Vincent Simone had a fling with Kristina in 2008 while his Londonderry girlfriend Susan Duddy was pregnant. Majella was in the audience to cheer on Daniel on Friday night and she previously showed she was relaxed about the Kincasslagh singer getting up close to Kristina on the dance floor when she posted a picture of the couple hand-in-hand and described it as a "lovely photo".

Any potentially cold Russian front was quickly averted in recent weeks and already an invite has reportedly gone out for Kristina to visit their home village of Kincasslagh.

And Daniel said Kristina and Majella had been swapping text messages.

Meanwhile, Daniel's competitive debut on Strictly has given him a solid platform to build on for next weekend's showdown when the public will help decide which star will be shown the exit door.

It was a case of the thrills of Donegal as the singer's dance moves wowed the majority of the judges, which left he and Kristina in a respectable eighth place out of 15.
