£145,000 goodie bag might numb 'and the winner isn't...' pain
Oscar nominees Leonardo DiCaprio, Eddie Redmayne and Kate Winslet will take home a gift bag worth more than 200,000 dollars (£144,170), regardless of whether they win or lose at the ceremony.
Every nominee in the best actor and actress, best supporting actor and actress and best director categories will walk away with the Everyone Wins bag of swag containing personal training sessions, underarm sweat patches, a 1,900-dollar (£1,369) "vampire breast lift" that promises results without implants, as well as a 54,000-dollar (£38,926) luxury trip to Japan and a 55,000-dollar (£39,647) trip to Israel that includes private security.
The gift bag also contains a non-surgical face tightening treatment from a New York plastic surgeon, jewellery and clothes, fitness supplements, a nine-course tasting menu for 12 guests, an electric bicycle, wine and luxury toilet paper and lotions in a customised dispenser worth 1,175 dollars (£847).
The nominees will also be able to donate 10,000 meals to an animal shelter or rescue of their choice from Halo, Purely for Pets.
Lash Fary, founder of Distinctive Assets, which compiles the bags, said: "We always look forward to introducing these stand-out entertainers to an array of companies with fabulous gifts to share but as this is considered the ultimate consolation prize for non-winning nominees, it's particularly fun to be able to do so when you know it will truly brighten someone's day."
