6m tune in for launch of the final Big Brother
The final Big Brother launch was watched by almost six million viewers and trumped the other terrestrial channels' ratings, the show had said.
An average of five million people tuned in to see contestants enter the house on Big Brother 11's launch night last night, with a peak audience of 5.9 million watching at 10pm.
The show said the figure meant the launch gave Channel 4 its third highest ratings so far this year.
Meanwhile, a surprise extra housemate for the final series of Big Brother was starting his “impossible task” yesterday — trying to avoid detection as a mole while dressed in a mole suit.
Mario, who was born near Venice and is half Italian and half British, will be set secret missions and have to live undetected — despite his “giveaway” costume.
If he is discovered by the 13 main housemates he will be ejected from the show.
Six men and seven women were chosen to take part in the 11th series of the reality show, which is being dropped by Channel 4 after this summer.
