Aaron Eckhart cast in Fade Out

Aaron Eckhart has signed up for psychological thriller Fade Out.

The Olympus Has Fallen star will play a troubled screenwriter in director Robert Salerno's movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

His character is recovering from a nervous breakdown in a villa on the beach and writing a screenplay about a jealous husband who kills his wife. Fiction and reality begin to blur, and he finds himself a suspect in his own wife's disappearance.

Anthony Bregman, one of the producers, said the film is as "irresistible as a potent Caribbean cocktail".

"A twisted mind-bending thriller set in a sun-soaked beach town - from a smart script full of surprising twists, and with true artists in front of and behind the camera," he added.

Salerno, who will be making his feature film directorial debut, will start shooting Fade Out in Puerto Rico next year.
