Ab Fab on the way to the big screen

Jennifer Saunders has said she is in the middle of writing a film version of Absolutely Fabulous, which she hopes to see in cinemas by the end of 2015.

The comedian wrote and starred alongside Joanna Lumley in the hit BBC sitcom, whcih followed PR guru Eddie Monsoon and her magazine editor best friend Patsy as they drank their way around London's trendiest parties while trying to cling on to their youth.

Making an appearance at the Hay Festival in Wales, according to the Daily Mirror she told fans: " I am writing the film as we speak - it's in the pipeline. I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year."

Jennifer had previously said it was unlikely the sitcom would make it to the big screen, saying: " We've been talking about it for so long and now I've just got this feeling that Ab Fab is in such a nice place now.

"If we made the film, there would be such a danger that we could ruin it."

The actress has reportedly completed hypnotherapy sessions and now seems to have made a U-turn on the film.
