Tuesday, 2 June 2009
Hollywood beauty Natalie Portman is heading to Northern Ireland this summer to star in new multi-million pound blockbuster Your Highness.
The Other Boleyn Girl and Star Wars actress will star alongside James Franco of the Spider-Man series in the new Universal Pictures movie.
The film — expected to infuse around £10 million into Northern Ireland’s economy — will be shot entirely on location in the Paint Hall in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.
Supported by Northern Ireland Screen, Your Highness will also star Danny McBride and will be directed by David Gordon Green. Filming gets under way in July.
In the movie Danny McBride, who wrote the script with Ben Best, plays a lazy, arrogant prince who, with his brother (James Franco), must complete a quest to save the kingdom and his brother’s fiancee.
Portman will play a warrior princess with whom the prince falls in love.
The Israeli-born actress made her film debut in Leon in 1994 and went on to win roles in Heat, Beautiful Girls and Mars Attack.
And she received an Oscar nomination for the 2004 movie Closer.
