Affleck for standalone Batman film?

Ben Affleck could be starring in his own Batman film, according to rumours.

Speculation was sparked after Warner Bros made the surprise announcement that the Oscar-winning star has signed on to play Batman in multiple movies, which would include the upcoming Man Of Steel sequel - Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice and a Justice League film.

According to Latino Review, the studio is considering a potential standalone film for 2019, which has the working title of The Batman.

There is also the possibility that Ben could direct the film.

The new Batman film would follow in the wake of Christopher Nolan's trilogy, which starred Christian Bale as the caped crusader.

Previous Batman movies include Tim Burton's 1989 film, which starred Michael Keaton as the title character and spawned three sequels, which have also starred Val Kilmer and George Clooney as Batman.
