Akinnuoye-Agbaje to star in Annie?

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is reportedly starring in the Annie remake.

The Mummy Returns actor is tipped to join the cast as "Nash, the tough but lovable bodyguard and driver" for Annie's millionaire adoptive father Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx), reported Deadline.

Quvenzhane Wallis has already signed on to play the orphan in Will Gluck's modern-day adaptation. Jay-Z will compose the music, and will co-produce with Will Smith.

Cameron Diaz will play mean orphanage manager Miss Hannigan and Rose Byrne has been cast as Grace, the assistant of the Daddy Warbucks-style character Stacks.

Bobby Cannavale will play a bulldog political adviser to Jamie's character as he makes a mayoral run in New York.

Shooting is scheduled to start in coming days, with a release expected for Christmas 2014.

Adewale, whose film credits include Bullet To The Head, GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and Get Rich Or Die Tryin', will next star in Thor: The Dark World and Paul W S Anderson's epic Pompeii.

The British-born actor has also appeared in TV shows such as Lost, Oz and BBC spy drama Hunted.
