Ana Ortiz hopes for Ugly Betty film

Ana Ortiz is hoping to make an Ugly Betty film

Ana Ortiz says she's hoping that if she and America Ferrara talk enough about the Ugly Betty film it will end up getting made.

The Latina actress, who plays Betty's feisty sister Hilda Suarez in the E4 comedy, said: "There's nothing concrete yet, it's just America and I talking about it, hoping to bring it into existence," she said.

"When America puts her mind to something it usually happens. But I think everybody needs to be able to look at is with a fresh eye, with a fresh heart and then tackle it."

Ana said the fourth season of Ugly Betty leaves "infinite possibilities" for the film.

"This season is definitely our best so I'm really proud we ended on a really high note but it's open enough for there to be a movie which would be really good," she continued.

"The season definitely ends really beautifully and in a really nice Betty way. There's no cliffhanger, nobody's going to be left unsatisfied, it is all tied up but it's definitely open to an infinite amount of possibilities in everybody's life."

:: Ugly Betty continues on E4 and begins on Channel 4 on August 15.
