Aniston to star in, produce Cake

Jennifer Aniston is to star in indie drama Cake.

The We're The Millers star will also be an executive producer on the film, reported Deadline.

She will play a woman called Claire who becomes fascinated by the suicide of a lady in her chronic pain support group. Meanwhile, she also "grapples with her own very raw personal tragedy".

The Cake script was written by Patrick Tobin and was on the Black List of Hollywood's favourite unproduced screenplays.

Daniel Barnz will direct the movie, which is the first title of a five-film co-financing pact between After Dark Films and China-based TV producer Shenghua Entertainment.

He said: "Of the zillions of Jennifer Aniston fans, I might be the biggest one of all. I've especially loved her more dramatic performances, and I can't wait to watch her tackle a role that has such a brilliantly funny voice and so much raw pain (hats off to writer Patrick Tobin)."
