Rachel Tucker cuddles up to George Clooney
Wednesday, 9 April 2008
Belfast woman Rachel Tucker was the envy of millions of women after cuddling up to Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney on the red carpet.
The 26-year-old Nancy wannabee joined the rest of the finalists from the BBC show I'd Do Anything at last night's London premiere of Clooney's new movie, Leatherheads.
Hundreds of screaming women lined the red carpet at the Odeon Leicester Square to catch a glimpse of 'Gorgeous George'.
But Rachel, who comes from north Belfast, managed to cosy up to the hunky star as he posed for photographers outside the cinema.
Dressed in a buttercup coloured dress, with matching gold sandals and clutch bag, Rachel looked overjoyed to be up close and personal with the star of Ocean's 11, Syriana and The Good German.
Rachel, who recently became engaged, is a strong contender for the role of Nancy in the forthcoming West End musical Oliver. Also hotly tipped for the role is Bangor teenager Niamh Perry, who was among the 'Nancys' who attended the gala premiere.
Following both their performances on I'd Do Anything on Saturday night, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber singled them out as his favourites.
And Rachel is firm favourite to win with Irish bookmakers Paddy Power.
Clooney's new movie, Leatherheads, is set in the world of 1920s American football.
He directed the film and starred alongside former flame Renee Zellweger (38), who plays a news reporter caught up in a love triangle with his football hero character.
Clooney, who is rumoured to be marrying his 29-year-old girlfriend, Sarah Larson, was asked if he had been tempted by a British girl and replied: " I have been."
