Saturday, 21 June 2008
Cinema-goers and YouTube users have been given a sneak preview of the new Tom Hanks movie City of Ember, which was shot on location in Belfast.
Walden Media and Playtone have released a teaser trailer of the blockbuster film, starring Hollywood actors Bill Murray and Tim Robbins.
The movie, which was produced by Hanks, also features up and coming Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, who also starred in Atonement and Harry Treadway as the hero and heroine of the film, as well as Mackenzie Crook, Martin Landau, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Liz Smith.
The multi-million pound movie, based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Jeanne Duprau, was shot mainly in Belfast last year, in the old Paint Hall building in the Titanic Quarter.
The former Paint Hall was transformed into an underground city to represent Ember.
