Atwell 'proud' for America return

Hayley Atwell has revealed that she was glad to be asked back for the Captain America sequel.

The British actress reprises her role as Peggy Carter in The Winter Soldier, and joked that she has to remain tight-lipped over the upcoming plots.

"I've already filmed it so I know what happens but I can't tell you. They will kill me if I said," she teased.

"But it's great to be part of it again. It's a lovely family - Marvel - and it's a really nice franchise to be a part of so I'm proud to be back."

Hayley, who attended the English National Ballet's Christmas party, is looking forward to having some time off over the festive season after starring in a revival of West End play The Pride alongside Mathew Horne. The play will resume on January 14, 2014.

"I'm having a very quiet one, down by the sea with my dog and my family," she said.

The 31-year-old added: "I'm kind of recovering from the play I've just finished so it's nice to have some down time."
