Award for Hunger Games' Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence is to be honoured with a coveted award for her film work.
The Hunger Games actress - who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Winter's Bone two years ago - will be presented with the Outstanding Performer Of The Year Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
The festival's executive director Roger Durling told Variety Jennifer was being feted for both her Hunger Games role and her turn in Silver Linings Playbook, which she stars in alongside Bradley Cooper.
He said: "Lawrence impressed us earlier this year in The Hunger Games, but has now left us moonstruck with her career-defining performance in Silver Linings Playbook - recalling classic turns by Lombard, Stanwyck and Colbert."
The 22-year-old actress follows in the footsteps of some big name stars who have previously won the gong, including Colin Firth, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren and Kate Winslet.
Jennifer, who is currently working on the second Hunger Games film, Catching Fire, will be presented with her award in February.
