Dan Aykroyd could be bringing comedy legend status to new film Tammy, which he is in talks to star in.
The comedy veteran is currently in negotiations about joining the movie, according to Variety.
Tammy will be directed by and also stars Bridesmaids comedian Melissa McCarthy.
Dan and Melissa would be appearing alongside Susan Sarandon and Mark Duplass in the film, which is being co-directed by Melissa's husband Ben Falcone.
It follows a woman whose life hits the skids when she loses her job and finds out her husband has been cheating. She takes to the road with her sweary, booze-loving grandmother, played by Susan.
Ghostbusters star Dan would take the part of Mark's character's father, who meets the pair during their road trip.
Filming is due to start in May.
Canadian actor Dan, 60, recently had a voiceover part in Legend Of Oz: Dorothy's Return.
Melissa has a part in the upcoming Hangover Part III, set for release later this year.
