Baldwin: Rock Of Ages was horrible

Alec Baldwin has said his own film Rock Of Ages was a "horrible movie".

The former 30 Rock star appeared alongside Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough and Russell Brand in the musical film last year but has now admitted that he wasn't that impressed with it, reported The Wrap.

Speaking at the American Magazine Media Conference in New York, Alec said of the film: " It was a complete disaster."

The star explained that he had signed up for the movie because of its cast and because he liked director Adam Shankman, but it seems he later regretted his decision.

"A week in you go, 'Oh God, what have I done?'" said Alec, who played club owner Dennis in the adaptation of the hit Broadway musical.

Alec also criticised the state of filmmaking in general, claiming movies are less gripping than they once were.

"Now people's own lives are more interesting than what's in the theatres," he said, adding that movie studios now "only want Spider-Man".
