Baron Cohen joins Tarantino film
Sacha Baron Cohen has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti Western, Django Unchained.
The Ali G star is said to be signing on the dotted line to play Scotty Harmony, reported Variety.
In an earlier script, the character of Scotty is thought to be an "overweight, 24-year-old", who faces off against villain Calvin Candie (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) in a card game, but it is expected that the British comedian - also known for his incarnations Bruno and Borat - would put his own stamp on the role.
Jamie Foxx, Samuel L Jackson, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony LaPaglia, RZA and many more are rumoured to be on board already for Tarantino's upcoming movie, which is set to be 'unchained' in cinemas in December 2012.
Following on from 2009's Bruno, Sacha - who has been enjoying fatherhood to his two children with wife Isla Fisher - will return to the big screen in Martin Scorsese's Hugo.
He has also started work on his new film, The Dictator, before preparing for his turn as camp Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in Peter Morgan's A Kind Of Magic.
