Jason Bateman could soon be swapping identities with Melissa McCarthy.
The US actor is attached to appear alongside the Bridesmaids funnywoman in the comedy ID Theft, with Melissa playing the identity thief, reported Deadline.
The original story, written by The Pursuit Of Happyness' Steve Conrad and Craig Mazin, was for a guy (Jason) to get his identity stolen by another man, but that changed after Jason saw the actress' scene stealing role in Bridesmaids.
Jason is also set to produce ID Theft with Scott Stuber.
Following his latest screen outing in Horrible Bosses, where he was reunited with Jennifer Aniston, he will next switch roles with Ryan Reynolds in The Change-Up.
