Bay movie gets new release date

Michael Bay's low budget sci fi thriller has been given a new release date and retitled Project Almanac.

The film - previously titled Welcome To Yesterday - is a "found footage movie" presented in the style of a documentary made from amateur footage, like The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity.

Project Almanac follows a group of teens who discover secret plans of a time machine, and construct one.

The movie was originally due to be released on February 28, 2014, but after testing better than expected with younger audiences, Paramount decided to postpone the release date.

It will now hit cinemas on January 30, 2015 - the same weekend that found-footage hit Chronicle opened in 2012.

Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore made the announcement at CinemaCon in Las Vegas after showing a teaser for the film, the Hollywood Reporter revealed.

Michael Bay produced the film, the feature debut of director Dean Israelite. The film had a low budget of between 10 and 15 million dollars.
