Beckinsale for Absolutely Anything

Kate Beckinsale has joined the cast of the new Monty Python film Absolutely Anything.

The Total Recall actress will play Simon Pegg's love interest in the comedy directed by Terry Jones and featuring an all-star cast including fellow Python's John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle and Michael Palin as well as Robin Williams, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Eddie Izzard, and Joanna Lumley, Deadline reported.

Pegg plays disillusioned school teacher Neil who is granted the power to do anything he wishes by a group of power-crazed aliens and voiced by the Python crew.

Struggling with his new-found powers, Neil turns to his dog Dennis, voiced by Robin Williams, but ends up having to choose between his dog and his girl.

Filming on Absolutely Anything is due to start in March.

The film, which has been written by Terry Jones and Gavin Scott, is produced by Ben Timlett and Bill Jones at Bill & Ben Productions.
