Beckinsale for Face Of An Angel

Kate Beckinsale is reportedly in talks to join Michael Winterbottom's drama, The Face Of An Angel.

The Underworld star is rumoured to play a journalist investigating a murder, which bears some similarities to the Amanda Knox case, reported Deadline.

British model Cara Delevingne has reportedly signed up for a role in the film, with Rush star Daniel Bruhl tipped to play a troubled documentary filmmaker trying to get to the bottom of things.

The Face Of An Angel - which Michael will direct from a script by Paul Viragh - is based on Barbie Latza Nadeau's book, Angel Face.

The film, which is being backed by BBC Films and Melissa Parmenter, will start production in Tuscany, Italy, shortly.

Kate, who is best known for portraying vampire-human Selene in all three Underworld films, was last seen in the Total Recall reboot with Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel.

The 40-year-old mother-of-one will next star in Brad Anderson's Eliza Graves alongside Michael Caine, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess.
