Belfast one of top cities for film and TV thanks to Game of Thrones and Line of Duty
Belfast is a major creative talent city in the UK thanks to its success as a location for film and TV productions such as Game of Thrones and Line of Duty, according to a report.
The CBRE Creative Regions Report evaluates the competitiveness and potential of cities outside London as destinations for the creative industries.
Belfast is at number 11 in the CBRE UK Regional Top 25, with Manchester, Reading, Edinburgh, Cambridge and Glasgow in the top five. It is ranked ahead of Southampton, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Liverpool and Cardiff.
It also scores highly in the CBRE index for creative employment growth in the past five years, projected employment growth in the next five years, affordable cost of space and other factors.
Locations in Belfast and other parts of the province have been used in seven seasons of Game of Thrones and in four seasons of BBC police drama Line of Duty.
