Berges-Frisbey for King Arthur tale

Astrid Berges-Frisbey has been crowned queen of Guy Ritchie's upcoming King Arthur movie.

The French-Spanish actress - known for playing a mermaid in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - will star as Queen Guinevere in medieval drama Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur, reported Deadline.

The part could boost 28-year-old Astrid's Hollywood career, as Warner Bros is hoping the film could launch a new franchise.

Charlie Hunnam is thought to be on board to play King Arthur in the film, which will tell the story of the ruler and his knights of the kingdom of Camelot.

Idris Elba is said to be in talks to play Bedivere, Arthur's father's right-hand man, who will teach his son how to lead an army, although other reports claim he is in discussions for the part of Merlin.

Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur is scheduled to be released in July 2016.
