Beyonce moved by animation role

Beyonce joked that she'd always wanted to be queen

Beyonce was almost moved to tears in the recording booth while making new animation Epic.

The singer voices the role of Queen Tara, the Mother Nature-like queen of the forest in the new action adventure film based on William Joyce's children's book The Leaf Men And The Brave Good Bugs.

Beyonce revealed in a teaser trailer: "What I like most about Tara is that she sets a great example for the people that she protects. The film is about how everything in our life connects."

She is then seen in the recording booth getting emotional over her lines and she tells the technicians: "I'm going to cry!"

The star confesses she couldn't resist the role after reading the script, but also because "I always wanted to be a queen."

Beyonce revealed: "Everything in this movie is big - the characters, the action, this is one time where the film really lives up its title."

Epic, which also features the voices of Josh Hutcherson, Colin Farrell and Christoph Waltz, is released in cinemas in May.
