Bigger Fatter Greek Wedding booked

Nia Vardalos and John Corbett are to be reunited in a sequel to hit comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Nia - who penned the 2002 smash hit rom com - will write and star in the movie, Variety reported.

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson will return as producers on the project.

The story will see an even bigger, fatter Greek wedding bring the eccentric Portokalos family back together - and a family secret exposed.

Nia said: "Now that I'm experiencing motherhood, I'm ready to write the next chapter of my family story. Of course, a few jaded folks in the press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true."

Nia and John starred as couple Toula and Ian in the first movie, which saw Ian agree to become a member of the Greek Orthodox church so that Toula could have a wedding that would please her family.
