Blanchett's stylist tops power list

Cate Blanchett's Oscars gown was apparently a last minute choice

Elizabeth Stewart - who dresses Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts for the red carpet - has been named the most influential stylist of 2014.

Elizabeth, who has lived in Barcelona, Paris and New York, was placed number one on The Hollywood Reporter's Top 25 Power Stylists of 2014 list.

She revealed Cate's soft-gold embellished Armani Prive gown she wore to collect her best actress Oscar this year was "a very last-minute choice".

As for juggling nominees, she revealed: "Timing helped a lot - Cate and Julia got ready in the same hotel and Julia leaves later, so I was able to see them both out the door."

As well as dressing Oscar-winner Cate, her clients include Jessica Chastain, Amanda Seyfried, January Jones and Frieda Pinto.

Petra Flannery, whose clients include Amy Adams and Claire Danes was second on the list, while Micaela Erlanger, who dressed best supporting actress Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o, was placed third.

Leslie Fremar - whose clients include Julianne Moore, Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlet Johansson was at number five and Rachel Zoe - now considered a celebrity in her own right - made it to number six.
