Bono and Neeson plan film
Monday, 7 September 2009
Liam Neeson has joined forces with Bono to make a new movie about an Irish showband singer.
‘The Virgin of Las Vegas’ will see the Ballymena-born actor (above) take on the persona of a washed-up showband singer who wins a new lease of life when he heads to Vegas.
His alcoholic character will “find his life turned on its head following the arrival of a mysterious stranger”, an insider revealed.
The project is expected to cost more than $14 million and is being funded by U2 frontman Bono.
Meanwhile, the script has been written by another Irish music icon — Horslips band member Barry Devlin — and is due to begin filming shortly.
