Brazilian music tops Janet's list

Janet Jackson's new film is called For Coloured Girls

Janet Jackson has said despite winning numerous Grammy Awards, gracing the big and small screens and having an Academy Award nomination under her belt, she still has a long to-do list.

The 44-year-old star of the new big-screen drama For Coloured Girls revealed she would love to foray into Brazilian music and jazz - genres she grew up listening to.

She said at the movie's New York premiere Brazilian music was "a great love" of hers.

Janet plays a shrewd magazine executive facing marital problems in Tyler Perry's adaptation of Ntozake Shange's play For Coloured Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf.

She added her other professional goals include becoming an action star and doing a sci-fi film.

Janet told Entertainment Tonight that acting was always one of her dreams.

"I wanted this to be my career ... I'm finally living out my childhood dream," she said.

Virgo:

Read the fine print on a contract. If you're not happy with the proposed terms of a deal, renegotiate. Don't be afraid to drive a hard bargain. You may not realise it, but you have a great deal of power. People are willing to pay good money for someone with your intelligence and experience. If you undersell yourself, you will set a dangerous precedent. Someone will ask you to do something that goes against your conscience. Obey your principles, even if it means making an enemy.More
