Brit stars test for Star-Lord role

Eddie Redmayne could be set to star in Galaxy Of The Guardians

Jim Sturgess and Eddie Redmayne are among the British actors auditioning for the Star-Lord role in Guardians Of The Galaxy, it has been reported.

A shortlist of actors including Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston and Lee Pace are reportedly being tested for the lead role of Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in James Gunn's Marvel movie, reported Deadline.com.

Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), James Marsden (X-Men) and Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) are also rumoured to be in the frame for the part of the half-human, half-alien leader of the Guardians.

Guardians Of The Galaxy is scheduled for release in 2014.

Jim, who previously starred with Anne Hathaway in One Day and Kirsten Dunst in Upside Down, will next appear in the Wachowski brothers' Cloud Atlas, while Eddie - who was in One Day With Marilyn opposite Michelle Williams - stars in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables alongside Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried.
