Josh Brolin has revealed his excitement over the upcoming Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
The Gangster Squad actor is set to star in a retelling of Victor Hugo's classic novel and admitted he is excited about the "risk" involved in doing a new version of the story.
"I am most excited about Hunchback Of Notre Dame. It will be a lot of fun and a really interesting version of this story that has been told 14 times, 16 times?" he said.
"I like the risk of telling it again. It is a challenge."
This will be the 11th film adaptation of Victor Hugo's book, Notre-Dame De Paris, about the hunchback Quasimodo and how he falls in love with the gypsy Esmeralda.
The Warner Bros film, written by Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows screenwriters Kieran and Michele Mulroney, will tell the story in a way that has "never been done before".
Not only will this be the first version to use CGI (the most recent version was done in 1999), but it will also centre around street performer Pierre Gringoire, who falls in love with Esmeralda and tries to help her when she is captured.
"I also like the CGI capabilities now for what we can do with Paris at that time. I think we can do things that have never been done and still keep it intimate," Josh continued.
"I would imagine we will shoot a little bit in Paris and the majority of it in London, but I don't know. Maybe New Orleans."
