Browning fine with screen nudity
Emily Browning has revealed she doesn't mind baring all on the big screen.
The Australian actress strips off for Julia Leigh's new drama, Sleeping Beauty, where she plays a student who gets drawn into a seedy sexual underworld.
"I've never had a problem with nudity. Obviously I wouldn't do it for a role where I didn't think it was necessary or relevant. I'm not just going to get my kit off for every film that I do," she said.
"But I love this story, the way it was written and the character and I felt completely comfortable with Julia so it was fine for me. It wasn't a big deal."
Emily admitted she still found the initial nude scenes disquieting.
"The first scene where I had to take my clothes off was a little bit nerve-wracking but after that, it became pretty easy because I just go into a completely different world. When the cameras are rolling, I leave myself behind and you don't have the same insecurities that you have in everyday life, I suppose," she added.
However, the 22-year-old admits seeing herself in the film posters is "jarring".
"I saw the poster a couple of days ago when I was just getting off the Tube and it's always a bit jarring because I am half naked. I don't think people never recognise me from the poster because they just walk past it," she admitted.
:: Sleeping Beauty opens in cinemas on October 14.
