Bruce Willis captivated by thriller

Bruce Willis is in negotiations to star in indie thriller Captive.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was attached to star in the film when it was unveiled in 2011 but he has since departed the project, Variety reported.

The movie tells the story of an American real estate magnate, living in Brazil, who is kidnapped and held for ransom at a prison cell hidden in a landfill.

A detective specialising in ransom cases tries to find him.

Colombian Simon Brand, also known for his music videos, is signed up to direct the movie, which is expected to start shooting in March.

Michael London developed the script and is one of the producers.

Brand previously directed 2006 thriller Unknown, about a group of men kidnapped and locked in a factory.
