Bruce Willis working on Die Hard 5

Bruce Willis says work on Die Hard 5 has begun

Bruce Willis has revealed that work is under way for Die Hard 5.

The Hollywood star will reprise his iconic role as tough-as-boots cop John McClane in the fifth instalment of the franchise, but can't reveal any details about the forthcoming plot.

"I know a script is being written and yes, I would do it," he said.

"Some of it is my idea. I can't say too much right now."

Bruce, who next stars in Red alongside Morgan Freeman, Dame Helen Mirren and John Malkovich, previously admitted he was worried about being replaced, saying: "In the next few years they could easily find a replacement for me or call the character someone else. I want to do Die Hard 5, then one final Die Hard movie - Die Hard 6 - before finally hanging that white vest up for good.

"At the moment, I can run and I can fight on screen. But there will come a time when I no longer want to do that. That's when I'll step away from the Die Hard films."

He is also excited about re-appearing in The Expendables sequel.

"I love the Expendables. I would come back for The Expendables 2," he added.

:: Red opens in cinemas on October 22.
