Bullock heads towards the Minions

Sandra Bullock is being linked to the Despicable Me spin-off Minions

Sandra Bullock will reportedly lend her voice to the Despicable Me spin-off, Minions.

The Oscar-winning actress is in talks to provide the voice for Scarlett Overkill, the lead villain in her first voice role since 1998's The Prince Of Egypt, reported Deadline.

Scarlett is described as "a stylish bad-a** who aspires to be the world's first female super-villain" in the story, which focuses on the loveable yellow minions.

Set in the 60s, Minions sees three of the creatures going to a villain convention to find a new master and competing to get the job from Scarlett.

The minions' next screen outing is in Despicable Me 2 this summer, before their own movie in 2014.

Sandra, who last starred in Stephen Daldry's Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close alongside Tom Hanks, will next be seen in Paul Feig's action-comedy The Heat beside Melissa McCarthy and Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity with George Clooney.
