Butler revving up for Motor City
Gerard Butler is said to be in talks to jump into revenge thriller Motor City.
The Scottish star could be coming on board Albert Hughes' upcoming action flick, to play an ex-prisoner who seeks to hunt down the people responsible for putting him inside, reported Variety.
Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans had previously been linked to the role but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
Gary Oldman - who previously worked with director Albert on The Book Of Eli - and The Rum Diary's Amber Heard are already signed on to co-star in the movie, which was written by Chad St John.
Production is scheduled to start in June.
Gerard, who reportedly spent three weeks last month receiving treatment for prescription drug addiction, has three films coming out this year including Curtis Hanson's surfing film Of Men And Mavericks.
He's also set to take the lead in diamond heist thriller Brilliant, which starts shooting in Boston this spring.
