Nicolas Cage is in talks for Lost Melody

Nicolas Cage looks set to play a man who falls for a prostitute in a new indie film.

The Kick-Ass star is currently in talks about the role in Lost Melody, reported The Wrap.

The movie, which is being directed by Terry Zwigoff, follows a man who is trapped in an unhappy marriage when he falls in love with a hooker.

So far no other casting details are known.

Producer Edward R Pressman said the film is a "wonderful darkly-funny drama in the tradition of such classics as The Blue Angel and Sunset Boulevard".

Oscar-winner Nicolas, 49, has several movies coming up, including thriller The Frozen Ground and crime film Tokarev.
