Nicolas Cage has admitted he had to go into 'Zen-mode' to stop himself from worrying about hurting the stunt women on Drive Angry 3D.
Having made Gone In 60 Seconds, Nic said he was prepared for the break-neck speeds during shooting - but not combined with real people balancing on his car.
"I'm OK when I'm driving alone - it's when I have various stunt women on the hood and I'm driving at speeds approaching 80, 90, 100mph, then I got a little nervous," the actor confessed.
He said he was praying nobody would be injured during some of the scenes.
"I go into a focused, concentrated Zen-mode where I keep chanting to myself 'no-one is going to get hurt, no-one is going to get hurt, no-one is going to get hurt' and thankfully no-one did - but definitely my adrenalin was up!" he laughed.
In the film, which comes out next year in the UK, Nicolas plays a vengeful father who chases after the men who killed his daughter.
"It hailed from movies that I really enjoyed from the 70s, like High Plains Drifter. Movies that are largely responsible for compelling me to want to be a film actor," he explained.
"The idea of taking that style of filmmaking and adding 3D to it seemed to be just a little to special to pass up, it was a very fresh concept. I wanted to see those movies come to life in a third dimension" he said.
