Sir Michael Caine is to join The Last Witch Hunter

Sir Michael Caine is to star in supernatural thriller The Last Witch Hunter.

The 81-year-old will join the cast including Vin Diesel and Rose Leslie in the movie, which is directed by Breck Eisner, reported Screen Daily.

The fantasy film, which has seen Burk Sharpless, Matt Sazama, Cory Goodman, DW Harper and Melisa Wallack on screenwriting duties, follows an immortal witch hunter who joins forces with a female witch to stop the covens of New York from unleashing a plague on humanity.

Michael, who last starred in Now You See Me, has finished shooting The Youth with director Paolo Sorrentino and co-stars Harvey Keitel and Rachel Weisz.

He will next be seen in Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service, Christopher Nolan's Interstellar and thriller Eliza Graves.
