Caine joins The Secret Service?

Sir Michael Caine has reportedly joined the cast of new spy movie The Secret Service.

The Oscar-winning British star will play the lead agent in the film, reported The Sun.

The 80-year-old could be sharing the screen with Colin Firth, as earlier this year it was reported that the King's Speech star looked set for a role in the film.

Liam Neeson has also been linked to the project, which will be directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The Secret Service is based on a comic book which Matthew co-created with Mark Millar.

Matthew, who will direct, produce and finance the film, has also co-written the screenplay with his X-Men: First Class writer Jane Goldman.

It tells the story of a boy from a rough London neighbourhood who gets recruited by his uncle into a British spy school of the sort that churns out suave, sophisticated gentlemen-agent types in the 007 mould.
