Steve Carell has revealed that he doesn't want his Anchorman alter-ego to change a bit in the sequel.
The US funnyman, who portrays Brick Tamland in the highly anticipated sequel, revealed that shooting on the second instalment is already under way in Atlanta.
"We just started shooting Anchorman 2 in Atlanta," he told host Jay Leno on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
He added: "He will not evolve, he will devolve. That was my hope for this movie - that he would just be exactly the same. Nobody changes."
Will Ferrell, who co-wrote the script with director Adam McKay, is back on board as newsreader Ron Burgundy, alongside returning cast members Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner.
Kristen Wiig is tipped to play a love interest for Brick, while James Marsden has been cast as a rival anchorman.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set for a US release in December.
