Steve Carell joined some not-so-mini Minions as they launched their new movie Despicable Me 2.

Comedy star Steve - who returns as the voice of one-time villain Gru, now attempting to turn his life around - was accompanied by co-star Miranda Cosgrove as they were snapped with the cartoon characters.

They posed close to Tower Bridge in London as they promoted the film, set for release on June 28.

In the new film, Gru has become a jam manufacturer and devoted father who is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help it catch another arch-criminal.

The tiny yellow Minions - Gru's helpers - became favourites with film-goers in the first animated film. Steve and Miranda teamed up with two larger versions at the photocall.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Capricorn:

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
